Three days after I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior I got to know Becky, one of the greatest gifts God has given me, and even then I knew God was with us.
For a couple of years I went to school in Colorado, and she went to school close to home. We prayed for a way to be closer, and God provided a way.
We prayed for Jesus to bring us closer to Him and strengthen our relationship, and we were blessed with the most wonderful wedding and marriage anyone could have (I think so anyway).
God gave us great jobs to take care of our material needs, a wonderful church and friends to help us spiritually, and close relationships with others who are still searching for Him. In all these things God has provided a way.
We asked for baby
And God provided.
I/we asked for a boy (because girls are so high maintenance :))
And God provided.
We prayed for a name – and a day later, when I had just finished talking to a friend named Josh, I was thinking that maybe Joshua would be a good name. I walked to my mailbox at work and was amazed to find a letter addressed to Joshua Larson. Then the following weekend most of Becky’s family got together and voted on a name – without my input – and unanimously voted on Joshua. God’s work was undeniable.
And I knew God was with us.
The name Joshua means, “the Lord is salvation"
In the Bible Joshua was the first one to see the Promised Land; this has come to be true in our family as well.
God has promised never to give us a burden heavier than we can bear, and through the seemingly hundreds of phone calls from people offering help in any way possible I see that He is providing for us once again, because he always provides a way.
Everyone asks what they could do to help. I ask you to pray for us. Ask for Jesus to mend our hearts and yours, and to draw us all constantly closer to him through the day that we get to meet Jesus and Joshua in Heaven.
